Nokia to Enter Laptop Business !

Nokia is planning to enter the laptop business, its chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said in an interview to Finnish national broadcaster YLE. "We are looking very actively also at this opportunity," Kallasvuo said, when asked whether Nokia plans to make laptops. Last week, Acer launched eight mobile phone models following the same moves by competitors Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo. While strong profit margins in the smart-phone industry attract PC brands, the attraction of the low-margin computer industry is less obvious.

Sri Lankan cricketers injured in terror attack at Lahore, Pakistan

 
Today, masked terrorists loaded with gun attacked the bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team to the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Five cricketers, including Mahela Jayawardene, the Sri Lankan captain, and his deputy Kumar Sangakkara, received minor injuries. The attack also left six security men and two civilians dead.

The Lankan president who is in Nepal had cut short his Nepal visit as a result of this incident.

The Indian External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee told reporters today that unless Pakistan completely dismantles the terrorism infrastructure on its territory, incidents like the attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore would continue to take place.

While the Bangladesh cricket authorities expressed sadness over the deadly attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore on Tuesday but hoped that Pakistan would still go ahead with their limited overs tour of the country.
